Where’s North Valley? Located close to the border of Carson City and Douglas County there are several housing developments as well a the 18 Hole Sunridge Golf Course. Many of the homes in the Northern End of Douglas County are in the Minden area zip code; however, several are in the Carson City zip code. This makes things very confusing but all the homes are still in Douglas County. Homes on the East side of Highway 395 are generally located in Sunridge. This subdivision was first developed in the early 1990’s. Two other gated communities were added after Sunridge was developed and they are called L’Adigo and The Springs. Homes on the West Side of the Highway are Silvercrest and Indian Hills. When Douglas Country created a redevelopment area on the west side , major big box stores moved in. We have Best Buy, Home Depot, Target, Walmart, and Trader Joe’s. Close by and located at the base of Spooner Summit is Costco which serves Lake Tahoe residents as well as Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa and Carson City residents. With the convenience of major shopping and easy access to Lake Tahoe and the new major freeway i-580 to Reno this is a very attractive location.
